Get in Touch

Union County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm a person's custody or release, post bond, release anyone, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the responsible government office directly for those matters.

Official Union County Record Routing

Union County records can sit with different custodians. Use the agency that created or holds the requested item, describe a specific existing record, and confirm present hours before making a trip because the reviewed official sources did not publish a single records-office schedule.

Union County Sheriff's Office

10 Elizabethtown Plaza
Elizabeth, NJ 07207
908-527-4450

Division of Corrections

15 Elizabethtown Plaza
Elizabeth, NJ 07207
908-558-2600

The county's current corrections page uses this number. If it does not resolve the question, call the sheriff's main line because the county directory also lists a different corrections number.

Bureau of Identification

2 Broad Street, Attention BCI Unit
Elizabeth, NJ 07201
908-558-2630

BCI maintains identity-related records and pictures. Its role does not mean every requested image is available for public disclosure.

Union County OPRA Clerk

Office of the Clerk of the Board
10 Elizabethtown Plaza, sixth floor
Elizabeth, NJ 07207
908-527-4140

For a county-held record, use the county OPRA form and identify the arresting agency, person, date range, booking number if known, requested format, and the particular existing record. Under New Jersey OPRA, an ordinary request is answered as soon as possible and generally within seven business days. A lawful exemption, a storage search, or special service can change the path or timing. N.J.S.A. 47:1A-3(b) identifies certain post-arrest information that must be available while preserving statutory investigation, safety, privacy, and sealing limits.

For a city arrest report or local police record, begin with the arresting municipal department and its own records custodian, not the county by default. Elizabeth Police and Township of Union Police publish police-request forms; current Plainfield routing should be confirmed with the city before a request is sent.
